A scholarship for Ninoska (on the right).
Educating a future doctor: In 2016 at the home in Huanta, Ninoska told us that her dream was to become a doctor, a pediatrician. Ninoska explained how difficult it was for the people in the rural areas of the Andes to find and be seen by a pediatrician. She is our age and we needed to help her.
In 2017 she graduated #1 in her high school (secundaria) but had no funds to go on to the "academia," a preparatory study before college.
We helped her and the nuns that care for her to fully fund her living and meal arrangements in Lima, tuition for a full year of college preparatory studies, books and other academic expenses.
Going forward: We will continue to help Ninoska's education and to network with U.S. and Peruvian doctors that can help her. We are looking for sponsors to help other girls that are soon graduating and live at the home. The nuns do a fantastic job of inspiring these girls with ambition and good study habits. We want to help fund the scholarship of smart, hungry and driven girls that are being so well prepared to succeed.
